The Effectiveness of Familiar Auditory Sensory Training on Improving Glasgow Coma Scale Scores in Patients with Decreased Consciousness
Abstrak
Penurunan kesadaran merupakan kondisi neurologis serius yang membutuhkan intervensi tepat untuk mendorong pemulihan fungsi otak. Stimulasi auditori menggunakan suara yang familiar dikenal mampu mengaktifkan jalur kognitif dan emosional yang tetap bekerja meskipun tingkat kesadaran menurun. Pendekatan ini dinilai menjanjikan sebagai intervensi nonfarmakologis yang mudah diterapkan di ruang perawatan intensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai efektivitas Familiar Auditory Sensory Training (FAST) dalam meningkatkan skor Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) pada pasien dengan penurunan kesadaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-eksperimental pretest–posttest control group. Sampel yang digunakan sejumlah 46 yang dihasilkan dari G Power dengan nilai power 0.75 dan effect size 0.8. Skor Glasgow Coma Scale diukur sebelum dan sesudah intervensi menggunakan lembar observasi GCS. Uji analisa menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil uji menunjukkan kelompok intervensi mengalami peningkatan skor Glasgow Coma Scale dari nilai rata-rata 11.70 menjadi 13.52. Pada kelompok kontrol, kenaikan skor relatif minimal, yaitu dari 12.17 menjadi 12.26. Familiar Auditory Sensory Training terbukti meningkatkan tingkat kesadaran pasien dengan penurunan kesadaran melalui peningkatan skor Glasgow Coma Scale. Intervensi ini dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai upaya nonfarmakologis yang aman, sederhana, dan potensial untuk mendukung pemulihan neurologis di ruang perawatan intensif.
