Abstrak

Abstrak:  Debris index merupakan nilai atau skor dari endapan lunak yang menempel pada permukaan gigi penentu. Plak dan debris dapat dibersihkan dengan menyikat gigi, tetapi hanya dalam waktu beberapa menit akan terbentuk selaput tipis dari ludah, kemudian kuman dalam ludah akan menempel bersama sisa makanan membentuk endapan sehingga menjadi debris. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu tingginya persentase debris index siswa tunagrahita di SLB B-C Optimal Surabaya Tahun 2022 (60,6%). Cara menyikat gigi harus benar agar seluruh sisa makanan yang berada di rongga mulut dapat dibersihkan secara optimal. Cara menyikat gigi yang salah dan kurang efektif akan mempengaruhi status kebersihan gigi dan mulut (debris index) menjadi buruk, sehingga dalam menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut harus memperhatikan cara praktik menyikat gigi yang baik dan benar.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan praktik menyikat gigi dengan Debris Index siswa tunagrahita di SLB B-C Optimal Surabaya. Metode penelitian, Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik, Responden dalam penelitian ini yaitu 33 siswa tunagrahita.Metode pengumpulan datanya  yaitu dengan cara pemeriksaan dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi kendall tau-b. Hasil Penelitian yaitu terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara praktik menyikat gigi dengan debris index siswa tunagrahita di SLB B-C Optimal Surabaya.
