Abstrak

 ABSTRAK:  Menyikat gigi secara baik dan benar merupakan faktor yang penting untuk pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Keberhasilan pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut juga dipengaruhi oleh pola menyikat gigi. Pola menyikat gigi meliputi teknik menyikat gigi, waktu dan frekuensi menyikat gigi. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu kebersihan gigi dan mulut yang buruk pada anak Sekolah Dasar (46,4%). Kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan faktor yang penting bagi kesehatan gigi dan mulut agar terbebas dari penyakit, oleh karena itu kebersihan gigi dan mulut harus dijaga dan dipelihara supaya tercipta kesehatan yang optimal. Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan pola menyikat gigi dengan kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada anak sekolah dasar. Metode : Pengumpulan data pola menyikat gigi dengan pengisian checklist pada lembar observasi dan lembar wawancara. Pengumpulan data kebersihan gigi dan mulut dengan menggunakan lembar pemeriksaan. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 110 siswa, yang diambil secara simple random sampling.Teknik analisis data yang digunakan merupakan uji Chi-square. Hasil : Pola menyikat gigi dalam kategori kurang baik yaitu 89 responden (80,9%), kebersihan gigi dan mulut dalam kategori buruk yaitu 51 responden (46,4%). Hasil uji Chi-square yaitu P value 0,002. Kesimpulan : Bahwa terdapat hubungan pola menyikat gigi dengan kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada anak sekolah dasar.
